Pope Benedict XVI will find a church in Mexico “vibrant”, which has “a lot to say and contribute,” said the rector of the Pontifical Mexican College of Rome, Armando Navarro Flores.

In an interview with Notimex the priest said the Catholic institution faces the same challenges of society and argued that this approach will see the Pope during his apostolic visit, scheduled from 23 to 26 March next.

“One thing is the Church in the press and over the Church in his own. The latter not only bishops, but priests baptized thousands and thousands of living consistently with their faith and apostolic “he said.

“The pope will find a church immersed in a globalized world, yet what that means from the standpoint of political, economic and cultural. The problems of mankind are also evident in Mexico, with its particular connotations, “he added.

According to the priest among these difficulties is the disparity, poverty but also the violence that is not restricted to organized crime but is manifested in other areas such as politics, society and family.

He felt that the Church should be known to locate in this context and promote the development of “peacemakers”, hence identified as the main challenge beliefs training on the rights and obligations in respect of the law.

“If Catholic parishes do their missionary work to promote community bonding and open horizons of hope, so that people do not disperse in fear and may even face threats, the Church will be making a very important role,” he said.

The Catholic Church in Mexico is part of the worldwide Roman Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope, Curia in Rome, and the Mexican Episcopal Conference. Being the dominant religion in the country for centuries, it has not been immune to criticism and sanctions from both citizens and the government.

Jose Cuitlahuac Salinas, Mexico’s assistant attorney general in charge of organized crime investigations, confirmed on Sunday that there was a near miss in late February in the government’s efforts to arrest the man who has become one of the world’s top fugitives since he escaped prison in a laundry truck in 2001.

One U.S. diplomatic cable released by WikiLeaks quoted Mexican Defense Secretary, Gen. Guillermo Galvan Galvan, as saying that Guzman moves frequently among 10 to 15 locations to avoid arrest, and has a security detail of up to 300 men.

A recommendation that Mexico release a French woman serving a 60-year kidnapping sentence sparked a heated debate Thursday about whether the Frenchwoman should be retried or released, and whether that would be fair.

The fate of Florence Cassez has become a hot-button issue because the defense has pointed out flaws in the case against her, while others point out that she was identified by the victims.

An opinion written by a Supreme Court justice and published Wednesday recommended that Cassez be freed because authorities violated her rights to a fair trial and consular assistance. That opinion must still be debated and voted on by a five-justice panel of the court, and no date has been set for that discussion.

Brazil’s intention to renegotiate the agreement with Mexico ECA 55 is “a bad message to the world and especially to the region”, when what is needed is a greater integration, said Bruno Ferrari, Secretary of Economy.

After participating in the Minning Mexico Day in this city, the economy minister revealed that even his most recent trip to Japan, among other things, was to meet with executives from major automotive OEMs with investments in Mexico, who expressed their concern about Brazil’s announcement to amend the agreements with Mexico in the automotive category.

Bruno Ferrari

Without referring explicitly to Brazil, Ferrari said: “one can not compete with those who do not comply with agreements (the agreements) they apply to all parties.”

Recently, Brazil announced it would renegotiate with our country, the Economic Complementation Agreement number 55 (ACE 55), which was signed in 2002 and basically sets the rules to market cars that do not pay tuition in 2007, only after 13 years to have the balance in his favor once did not, Brazil intends to change the rules after the 2011 Mexico had balance in his favor.

Given this, Ferrari confirmed that negotiations with Brazil to advance trade agreements are locked. negotiations to strengthen and expand trade agreements between nations that are now “suspended”, this is a setback.

Distrito Federal • The company Aeromexico incorporated at least 7 new Boeing 787 Next Generation aircraft, which will begin operations between 2013 and 2015. Of these, two are owned and four leased.

Andres Conesa, CEO of the airline, said this is part of its business plan and a long term goal.

Each of one of the planes have approximate retail cost of between 190 to 200 million dollars.

In introducing the Boeing 787 Dreamliner was reported that the first of the new aircraft will start flying in August 2013, having as destinations Paris, France, and Narita, Japan, on nonstop flights.

These devices consume 20 percent less fuel and emit lower volumes of gaseous pollutants to the environment.

In conference, Conesa said that this business plan will be adding five new international destinations among them, as well as Paris and Narita, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Barcelona, Spain, and Chile.

He said that while the exchange rate is affecting the operation of airlines, 50 percent of revenues are in dollars Aeromexico so the impact is less.

To question him about the possible resumption of operations of Mexicana Airlines, Conesa said that all routes are proper, so that the return of that airline is not something that concerns them.

“The Mexican market should see a bit of an adjustment, but the market remains completely distorted by the (Fed’s) quantitative easing. Risk assets will continue to be favored, for at least the first three months of the year.”

Shares of Cemex (CMXCPO.MX), the world’s no. 3 cement maker, jumped almost 2 percent while broadcaster Televisa (TLVACPO.MX) added 1.72 percent.

OHL Mexico OHLMEX.MX, the local unit of Spanish builder OHL that debuted on Mexico’s exchange late last year, rose 1.98 percent after Credit Suisse started coverage of the stock at “outperform.”

Credit Suisse analysts said OHL Mexico, which is not yet part of the IPC, would likely see an 80 percent jump in revenues from toll roads in 2011 from new projects.
