A s trip to Mexican border towns such as Tijuana, San Luis and Los Algodonos may be a huge savings on medicine or medical procedures for cash strapped seniors who can’t afford them in the United States.

Many American residents travel south every three to four months for dental care, eye glasses, prescription drugs or other medical procedures.

They purchase a three to four month supply of drugs, or receive dental procedures.

Most prescription drugs do not require a Doctor’s prescription in Mexico as they are sold over the counter.

• The exception would be controlled substances such as painkillers, valium, and other narcotics.
