German automaker Volkswagen said Wednesday it plans to build a $550 million plant with annual production capacity of 330000.

Volkswagen, the German automobile manufacturer, clearly sees a large part of its future in Mexico.

Such an announcement has been expected, as executives from the German automaker have publicly stated that the company will spend $1 billion on additional production facilities in Mexico over the next three years.
