President Felipe Calderón announced an investment from Intercontinental Hotels Group of 500 million dollars over the next three years , The planed investment will result in 47 new hotels, involving 5,000 rooms for lodging.

The federal government has earmarked 100 million pesos for Sinaloa to implement a new State Police, whose function will be to bring down crimes in the state to a minimum, said the Interior Minister, Francisco Blake Mora.

The Mexican subsidiary of the multinational German Company Volkswagen will invest 550 million dollars on a new engine plant for its next-generation vehicles, whose foundation stone was installed today in Silao, central Mexico, the company.
