Mexico, DF. The pursuit of organized crime groups to control territory and expand the drug market have caused the “brutal , irrational and stupid violence” in various parts of the country, said President Felipe Calderon.

The arrest was made by staff of an integrated joint operations base by military personnel and the reaction force of the municipality of Garcia. The Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) reported that within the limits of Nuevo Leon and Coahuila , the leader of organized cell “Los Zetas” was arrested , Ramon Luis Jesus Sarabia alias ‘Pepito’, considered one of the leading members of the criminal group ‘The Zetas’.

The Mexican army arrested a top member (Felipe Cabrera Sarabia) of the Sinaloa federation in Culiacan, in the northern state of Sinaloa, the detained is allegedly responsible for the safety of the drug trafficker Joaquin El Chapo Guzman in the mountains of Durango, authorities said.

According to the official report, the alleged gunmen traveling in three vehicles, two vans and car, they were labeled with the name of the criminal organization “Los Caballeros Templarios” or (Knights Templar). At least five suspected cartel hitmen died in a shootout with the Mexican Army in the state of Michoacan, officials said.

UPDATE: Mexican authorities say at least 21 people were killed Friday in three shootouts between soldiers and gunmen and a fight between rival drug gangs. Carlos Arturo Carrillo Pitalúa alias “Bam Bam” was arrested with five other Zetas after a citizen complaint. Veracruz • The Department of the Navy spokesmen Pitalua said Carlos Arturo Carrillo alias “Bam Bam” was alleged to have been in charge of Los Zetas in Veracruz.

HOUSTON – Rafael Cardenas Velez, nephew of jailed Gulf cartel leader Osiel Cardenas Guillen, was arrested by U.S Federal Agents and local police in the southeast Texas community of Port Isabel, reported The Houston Chronicle.
